If you were to ask me a few weeks ago if it would snow in March, I would have laughed at you. The teacher in me prays for Snow Days! However, the photographer in me watches the weather like a hawk the night before and the day of a wedding! Well, this past weekend it started to SNOW! Only in Knoxville, Tennessee can one experience all four seasons in a matter of a few days! Roxanne and Matt were married this past weekend at First Baptist Church of Knoxville and had their reception at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens.
The day started off like any typical wedding day! I arrive to start shooting the bridal details and as I am driving to the church it STARTS TO SNOW! Mind you it is mid-March and it’s snowing! Roxanne found it humorous while I was praying that it wouldn’t snow all day! With Roxanne and Matt’s reception outside, I didn’t want the party to end early because of the cold weather!
After Roxanne got in her gorgeous wedding dress! I mean isn’t she stunning? We attempted to take some photos prior to the ceremony starting but guests were eager to arrive! Roxanne hid in her bridal suite and I hurried off to take some portraits of Matt. When I met up with Matt he was a nervous wreck! He reminded me of myself on my wedding day. Nervous as could possibly be and just eager to see my bride walk down the isle. His groomsmen had fun giving him a hard time! I just told him to relax because once he saw Roxanne all his nerves would go away!
The ceremony was beautiful! The church was a perfect setting for Roxanne and Matt. They wanted a timeless and classic feel to their wedding day and I can say they did just that. From the little details at the church to the simplicity of their wedding ceremony, everything about Roxanne and Matt’s day was perfect!
Following the ceremony, we snagged a few portraits in front of the church and just allowed the two to be a giddy married couple! Their wedding party sure knew how to make for fun times and make Roxanne and Matt laugh! During the portraits of Roxanne and Matt, several passersby honked their horns and yelled congratulations. One individual even stopped to serenade the newlyweds! It’s never a dull moment in Downtown Knoxville.
The night ended at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens where Roxanne and Matt spent their time celebrating with family and friends.
Roxanne and Matt, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to spend so much time with you on your special day! I am so thankful for our relationship! I hope you enjoy your time away from Knoxville and make tons of memories together on your honeymoon!
